We'll cover the basics including:

What you can bring to the hospital with you to help increase your comfort

Different positioning techniques to not only get baby in optimal position for birth, but positions that can help relieve pain

Different positions you can use with an epidural to keep you more comfortable and keep baby in optimal position for birth

We'll talk about natural pain relief techniques such as hydrotherapy, massage, counter pressure, and coping mechanisms

We'll also cover different types of breathing techniques and how your support person can help you throughout your labor

Add in aromatherapy education to this class (an additional 30 minutes) and we'll cover the basics on different types of evidence based essential oils you may be able to use in a safe way for added physical (and emotional) comfort measures.

Other topics to choose from include aromatherapy education to be able to safely discuss evidence based essential oils for pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period. Shadowing is also available.
